Truly disappointing
We really wanted to love this toy chest. But it was a big disappointment. We ordered the one in honey color. It arrived nicely packaged and seemed easy enough to assemble. However, once we started to assemble it, we noticed the 2 hinges used to hold up the top lid was cracked. We proceeded to continue with the assembly but the pre-drilled holes were completely mis-aligned. And when we finally got it all together, it was obvious that the top bar joining the toy chest was also a bit too short and tightening the screws would cause the opening and closing of the lid to be caught on one side. While the product was in essence defective, the customer service from Bloomingdales was great. We called and they sent us a replacement to see if we can replace the defective parts (i.e. the hinges and the mis-aligned pre-drill holes). However, when we got the replacement item. The same defects were present also in the replacement toy chest. One of the hinges to be installed also had a crack in the casing. And there were duplicative pre-drill holes on the lid of the replacement toy chest. We did the best we could with the replacement. In the end it was still a defective toy chest for our little one. All in all the material is good, but the manufacturing and engineering of the item is just not there. Its like good ingredients ruined by faulty manufacturing.
Maybe not, though perhaps one more at some time.
Love it thought it would be bigger. Still a good size.
