Worth Every Penny for Serious Winter Walking

I hesitated for a long time before ordering these because of the price. Normally $650 (I grabbed them on sale for $487.50 — still yowza), these are fairly plain black boots, so it felt like a big leap. But they’re made in Italy, and I was about to spend a week walking all over Vienna and Prague in winter — and if you have foot issues like I do, comfort becomes priceless. I’m thrilled I took the chance. These boots were comfortable right out of the box — no break-in period at all. I wore them with a medium-thickness wool sock and had plenty of room for fleece-lined leggings without feeling squeezed. The shaft opening is slightly wider than I prefer, but that actually worked out better than anything too tight, especially with swelling. Speaking of feet… I deal with plantar fasciitis, arthritis, hammer toes, tendonitis, and frequent swelling — basically the whole foot-problem bingo card. These boots handled all of it beautifully. My toes never hit the top of the toe box (a miracle for hammer toes), and I never once felt pressure points or pain, even after long sightseeing days. The leather is gorgeous — thick, smooth, and very high quality. After more than a week of heavy wear on cobblestones, trams, museums, and sidewalks, there were no scuffs or marks. We didn’t have snow, but we did have light rain and brutal cold (feels-like temps around 20°F or lower), and my feet stayed warm and dry the entire time. Yes, they look a little chunky — but when you need serious support and warmth, that’s a trade-off I’ll gladly make. Love, love, love these boots. If you need comfort, warmth, and true walk-all-day support, they are absolutely worth the splurge. Highly recommend.
