Underwhelming

I purchased the La Bonne Brosse over another well-known high end luxury brush because of the marketing and aesthetic (it looks timeless). For a $200 brush, I was deeply deeply underwhelmed by the packaging/presentation (just a cardboard box, brush is wrapped in a thin piece of black tissue paper) and the brush itself. The brush feels like a drug-store brush (lol), cheaply made, light plastic, and not very luxurious. Perhaps the magic is in the boar bristles? I'm not really sure, but I'll be returning.

Hair brush

The La Brosse brushes are excellent. Use the universal brush to restyle my hair in the morning, gives the hair volume and helps in restyling on the days after washing your hair. A must have, very gentle on the scalp and hair

My favorite brush ever

I had serious hesitation about spending nearly $200 on a hair brush, but I was not satisfied with the less expensive offerings. I bit the bullet and invested in La Bonne Brosse, and I'm really happy I did. My hair is fine, straight and naturally shiny. At 74, it's mostly the same texture and color I had as a child (no dyes ever -- thanks, genetics). The product website, labonnebrosse.com, has a quiz that will recommend which variation works best for your particular hair, and based on that, I ordered the 01 from Bloomingdale's. It's perfect. I don't have a sensitive scalp and I love the massaging feel of the boar bristles. I've had other boar bristle brushes in the past and there's a noticeable quality difference. The one I bought is Ink Blue, and it's gorgeous. If it fits into your budget, it's a worthwhile purchase that will likely last for many years.
