Dangerous
I retuned this. The kettle was dangerous since the spout did not open when you pour. There was no way to pour out the boiling water by simply tipping the kettle, without it going all over the countertop. You have to manually hold open the spout with a kitchen tool while you pour, which is dangerous also.
Worth it
This is a high quality kettle. I've been through so many: stainless steel that rusted, electric ones that stopped functioning after a couple of months, copper ones that turned out not to be copper, etc. Now I found this one and I am pleased with the enamel finish of the exterior and interior, the gentle whistle that, while not piercing, is loud enough to hear even if you are not in the kitchen, the lid design males it easy to remove and snap back in (I've had trouble with other kettles and their warpy lids). The only thing that I would modify is the color of the enamel finish of the interior. The black inside makes it hard to see the water level when it is being filled. White would be a much better choice for easier visibility.

Best teapot out there
This teapot is enamel coated outside and inside, with no seam on the inside bottom, creating a healthier space for the water. I have had tea pots that released pieces of glue from the seam at the bottom, and I have also had teapots that were aluminum inside that shed black on my towel when I wiped the inside. This teapot also does not have a separate mechanism to move the spout to pour water. This is great because those mechanisms were just another area that would sometimes fail. This teapot just has a hanging cover that will move as you pour. The whistle is built into the cover, which is a wonderful idea because other teapots had the whistle in the spout which contributed to the breaking down of that piece. The cover of the teapot, perhaps is the only area some might consider a little difficult to get on and off. But once you do it a few times it is easier. The reason for this is the handle is close to the top cover but for me, it doesn’t matter because this teapot is terrific and it’s beautiful too. I have been making tea for decades, and have gone through many teapots. In the last few years, I noticed teapots were of poor quality and not dependable, no matter how much I paid for them. Also, sadly, we can no longer go to different stores to shop, leaving us with the only option to look at pictures on a screen and reading what the manufacturers tell us about the item. With this teapot, I am very happy, but of course, as with everything time will tell how it holds up.

Hot Water All over the Stovetop
It's a poorly designed product in that the cover over the spout swings freely on its hinge with no way to place it in a retracted position. Consequently, when pouring, hot water runs down the spout onto the stovetop. Most teakettles have a tab on the spout cover so that it can be pulled back to a stable retracted position before pouring.
