Beautiful French ceramics with a problem

I have collected a whole set of Jars Tourron jade dishes and bowls. They have a sturdy and substantial look with a beautiful glaze. However, I have noticed that 3 of the dinner plates have developed hairline cracks over the years. This is very disappointing.

Quality poor-dishes crack spontaneously

The Jars Tourron set is beautiful, but I am very unhappy with how it has held up. I bought a setting for 8, 5 years ago and several pieces have cracked on their own. I haven't had any chipping. We are 2 people, and are very careful with the dinnerware. The first crack was after 2 years, and I bought two new pieces to replace them. I just found 2 more dishes and bowls with hairline cracks, but Bloomingdales will not replace them free of charge. High quality dinner-ware should last at least 10-15 years (or more!). For the high price, this is a poor investment. I'm stuck now, and must buy fill-in pieces at considerable expense. I agree with the other reviewer that I don't recommend starting a new set with this product.

Beautiful set but very disappointed in the quality

I've had this set for about 5 years. Several large and small plates as well as coffee mugs have chipped very easily and also several plates/mugs started to show signs of cracking; numerous broke thus far. There are only two of us using the dishes with no children and we take pride in caring for our belongs. These are expensive for the lack of quality/durability, being charged $40 for one small plate, when it hasn't lasted 5 years is unacceptable. I'm not talking about one plate and one mug, its about a quarter of my set that has broken or cracked. No doubt it's a beautiful set but not worth the money if you think you're paying for quality.

I'm sad to say that several pieces in my place settings for 8 have cracked as well. I'm really surprised as I thought Jars is a high quality producer. The items were quite expensive (and beautiful), but I would not recommend the line to a new buyer due to this flaw.

I have to disagree with JLWF's comment:  this is the only set that never breaks.   It is both beautiful and virtually unbreakable/ doesn't chip.
