my daily setting powder

After years of using Hourglass products, I decided to try the Veil Translucent Setting Powder based on the reviews — and it has become an essential in my routine. The powder is exceptionally fine‑milled and delivers a soft‑focus, airbrushed finish without dulling the skin. Paired with the Veil Powder Brush, application feels intuitive and precise. I use the larger end for a light all‑over set and the smaller end for targeted areas like under the eyes and around the nose and mouth. my daily setting powder

This is hands‑down the best setting powder I’ve used. The formula is super fine, blends effortlessly, and gives an airbrushed look without making the skin look dry or flat. I purchased mine in a set with the Hourglass Veil Powder Brush, and the brush is just as impressive as the powder. I use the larger end for setting the entire face and the smaller end around the nose, mouth, and under the eyes — it makes application precise and seamless. The packaging feels high‑end, the powder lasts all day, and I’ve yet to find another setting powder that performs as well. I now own both the full size and the mini for travel.

Skin like

I wanted to add a loose setting powder to my makeup routine so bought this mini version to try out first because I have other hourglass products and like subtle yet effective finish they have. I didn’t want anything that would look cakey or powdery but I wanted something to take down take some of the shine away without making me look too matte. I’d say it definitely more of a skin like finish which I like but I do need to reapply again in the day but I also think I need to play around with it a bit more first to find the way that works best for me to achieve the look and coverage and longevity I want.

BLURRING!!

I am obsessed with this loose powder. I have the shade translucent and any time I use this powder, my skin looks like a filter. It is so blurring. It makes my under eyes look so seamless. I love the finish it gives my skin because it’s matte but not cakey. The only downside of this product is its price it is £50 which is very expensive so once this finishes, I would love to re-purchase, but the price is definitely a factor to consider

Fine, but I don't get the hype

I finally tried this due to the overwhelming hype, and while it's a perfectly good powder, I don’t quite understand the obsession. It is incredibly finely milled and the gold sifter packaging is brilliant for preventing a mess, but on the skin, it feels very similar to much more affordable options. It sets my makeup without any cakiness and offers a subtle blur, but it doesn't provide that "whoa" airbrushed finish I expected for the premium price point. Fine but nothing to shout home about.

Perfect finish

This is a lovely powder to help take the shine down. As with all hourglass products the packaging is beautiful and easy to use. The powder is beautifully fine and sets my makeup well. The powder blush sits beautifully on top. The powder helps to matify and minimise my pores.

Perfect powder for mature skin

I don’t have much need for powder. I have dry skin, and prefer a glowier look. But some days i need to take a little shine off the t-zone, and this one is great - it blurs or velvetizes the skin instead of mattifying. Just takes away the shine. I appreciate that it has no sheen or glitteriness to it. A great powder!
