Okay

Although this lipstick is a gorgeous shade of red and applies beautifully on the lips, unfortunately I find this formula too matte and when it sits on the lips for a couple of minutes, it begins breaking and separating due to how matte it is. The lack of hydration in this formula makes it quite difficult to use as my lips feel very uncomfortable throughout the day which is a shame because the shade of red is perfect and is deep enough.

Smooth and pigmented

The look and feel of this is amazing. It’s super smooth and hydrating on the lips. The colour is nice and pigmented too. However, like most lipsticks you need to reapply after food etc. I do see this lasting a while as a whole even after reapplying.

Poor longevity

I really love the colour and the pigment is intense. The texture feels really lovely and hydrating on my lips, even the packaging looks so luxurious! Sadly it just doesn't stay put for longer than an hour and therefore I just don't find myself reaching for it.

Shade Fauna

I love this lipstick and have a few shades, my current favourite being ‘Fauna’, a beautiful deep berry red! It glides on the lips so smoothly and leaves a strong colour. The formula is non drying, perfect in colder months. It can also be applied as more of a lip tint, if you don’t want a full flush of colour. The tube has lasted me ages!

Too pigmented for me

I received the Hourglass Unlocked Satin Creme Lipstick in Sahara Dusk in the Space NK Beauty Advent Calendar 2025, If I were scoring it only on its presentation I would give full marks, because the gold bullet is classy and would be a pleasure to have in a handbag. Sadly though the lipstick is way too bright and pigmented for my pale skin.

SHADE: SAHARA

Warm, brick brownish red shade that works well with my medium skin tone. This was included in the spaceNK Christmas advent. Gold packaging feels luxe, the formula is so comfortable to wear. Pigmented shade that lasts long, but still needs reapplication a few times during the day. A nice lipstick but there are so many cheaper alternatives.
