Shrinks in wash
This dress fit perfectly when it arrived and the fabric had a nice matte look to the very dark navy blue. Machine washed line dried according to directions, and it shrank at least one size. Washing per the directions also basically turned this into a shiny sausage casing. Very unhappy to have paid so much for a dress I didn’t get to wear once. Another Hobbs dress I have shrunk in the wash but the jersey fabric was more forgiving so it’s at least wearable. Size up for shrinkage if you buy.
Nice fabric long elegant
The fabric is a good quality jersey knit, thick and dark (not see-through at all), but not VERY stretchy. The dress is not lined. There is a hidden side zipper. Unlike the online pictures, this dress fell to tea length, a few inches above my ankles. It is very slim-fitting so I believe it would be best for someone tall and slender. Overall a beautiful dress.

It's a Classic! Hobbs Is My New Favorite Brand
Hobbs London is one of my favorite fashion brands. The quality is as good as so many of the much higher-priced brands. Their jackets and coats are beautiful, their dresses and blouses are made with lovely fabrics and designs, and I love the variety of styles and options. Their designs are classic, but with unique touches that will keep them in style for years to come. I haven't bought any dresses in years because most of them do not fit me well or look right, but this is my fourth Hobbs dress. It's perfectly tailored and so versatile and wearable for almost any occasion. It also looks great with boots, heels, or even a more casual shoe. If you don't know this brand, it's worth checking out.

Lovely dress
Beautiful dress with lovely weight and structure. Unfortunately, it does not fit me properly. It is very fitted through the middle and made me look like a stuffed sausage. I would have to go up 2 sizes to have it fit through the midsection. For reference I am 5'5" and a bit thick in the middle. I have a shift style Hobbs dress in size 10 that fits perfectly and I usually wear a 10 or 12 in dresses.
