For a long time I was hesitant to purchase this coffee maker due to reviews about the metallic finish flaking off. At some point I got over it and took a chance because we are happy with all of our other Cafe appliances. So far no quality issue with the finishes. We are very happy with the coffee it brews. We have been dedicated french press users for years and wanted to change our morning routine. The recommended water to ground coffee ratio is a little stronger than what I used in our french press, but we think it tastes great. Strong and very smooth. We have tried several brew setting combinations but settled on just using the Gold setting. It has been consistently better than what I was creating with the french press. My favorite Sumatra coffee was fabulous. This coffee maker is easy to use and clean up. We are very pleased with our purchase.

Quit working after 90 days. Zero support.
The coffee was fine while it lasted, but it only lasted 3 months before it quit working. There is no error message, I fill it, start it, and it just sits there and makes no coffee. The manual directs you to the care section of the website. The care section of the website is a pdf of the manual sending you to the website. In other words, they provide as much care as coffee — exactly zero.

Poor quality materials
I've had this coffee maker for 2.5 years and the areas that have metallic finish are all peeling off and look terrible. It makes great coffee but the materials should last longer that. I have taken very good care of and only ever wash it by hand with non-abrasive cleaner, so I'm disappointed in the quality and would not purchase again.

Looks pretty, but breaks quickly!
I love the way this coffee pot looks on my counter and it makes a great cup of coffee, for about 2-3 weeks before it breaks. I'm on my 2nd one, after much jumping through hoops to get a replacement, and this new one has already broken, too. They are poorly made and very fickle, and this is coming from someone who has had multiple Cuisinart coffee pots that have lasted 5-10 years each.

Good coffee-terrible finish work
Plating chipping from coffee pot and bezel under grind basket. My mother in law has same unit and the chipped plating cut her hand. Make good coffee but after 8 months it looks 20 years old.

Expected More
I expected so much more from a coffee maker at this price point. There are a few display defects. The control panel has black defect lines on the side. The Brew button is twisted and not centered. The coffee filter does not fully filter out coffee grounds. It’s a beautiful machine but very disappointed

We recommend using either the mesh basket filter (included with the unit) or a No. 4 paper filter and place into the brew basket insert.
