Disappointed
These are not tall. They are mid calf, the fit is fine. However, not what I wanted so I'm returning them.
Love these boots
Saw these boots were on sale & couldn't resist. I've been wanting a pair of Frye boots for a while but the cost was holding me back. I am short 5'1" and average size but I do have rather large calves for my size. I got these in the Extended width and they fit great! They are so comfortable and are exactly as pictured. I'm so happy with my purchase!

Beautiful boot, bad fit.
I have an athletic build, and my calf muscles are like those of a mans... yes, I have put my leg next to a guy with decent calves and they were the same size. That being said, I was excited that after all the Frye boots in the store didn't fit the girl told me I could order larger sizes online. I found the boot that actually fit my calf! Then the bad news: the foot was a bit narrow (but I could tolerate it). The part I could not tolerate was the slipping of the heel. I could not see having these boots forever. Fast forward: I ordered the Philip Tall harness wide calf boot. The foot fit amazing, but I could NOT zip up the calf. Frye: If you could make a boot with a good shoe fit that will fit my calves, I would be really happy... that or direct me to a brand that does.

Don't want to take them off!
I can't say how comfortable these are despite some reviews saying they need to be broken in. I literally didn't want to take them off; wore 12 hours the first time. So comfortable! Get lots of compliments. Wish they had dark brown in the polished. Cant beat the price either.

Beautiful, but not the best fit.
This is my second pair of Fryes, and there are several things I love about it. The wider shaft fits perfectly over my athletic calves, and the look and feel of the leather is very supple. Compared to my first Fryes (Engineer 8R), the fit is a bit off. I'm normally an 8, but this was *way* too narrow; however, an 8.5 is feeling a little big, and that's before I've even broken them in. I'm concerned that these will ultimately be too big, but hopefully I can work around that because they're beautiful!

Good quality Boot
i really like the boot. It is a casual rugged boot. Good quality black leather. However, I bought a size that was a 1/2 size too small and now I need to return mine.

Bad Quality and Durability
I bought these boots about a year ago and was quickly disappointed. As a frequent frye customer, I noticed that they lacked the quality that most other frye boots had. Within a week the buckle at the top of the boot broke so I exchanged them for another pair. The quality of the leather on the boots did not look as real or high quality as other pairs of fryes I have had. I wore the boots numerous times and they never broke in our become more comfortable, they are very stiff! and now the buckle on my new pair has broken! I am very disappointed with the quality and durability of these boots!
