Feels and fits great. But it starting pilling

I ordered this item on Nov 8 which was delivered on Nov 16, so therefore I have had not much time to wear for it . I put in on tonight and the fabric is pilling. It looks like it is 10 years old and has been washed a lot. I was so in love with the comfort and how soft it was, I think I threw away the tags
