Beautiful but Smaller than described

This is a beautiful circular filigree piece with extremely fine workmanship and sparkle. It is extremely well done even on the reverse side. The issue is, it says in the description that it is 1 inch long. I don't know what they're measuring but the actual circular piece is maybe a half inch or maybe 5/16 inch. the other issue I have with this fine jewelry is that the hook and the bale and the circle where you put the closure into are all very tiny. Hard to do. I may have to take it to a jeweler to put on more reasonably and larger sized clasp etc. With the price of gold being as high as it is, jewelry manufacturers appear to be cheapening everything up. The bale on this piece is so small that there is probably no way you could get it on another chain that you already own. This is also probably the reason that all of these miniature and very tiny pendants on gossamer thin chains are popular. It's because they want to manufacture within a certain price point. Bottom line ....hold onto your jewelry that you already own. In the meantime I will enjoy wearing this one.
