Pretty but chain too thin

This is a pretty pendant, but the chain is way too delicate and thin. The size is small at just over 1/4 inch wide, but it is sparkly and perfect to wear every day or for special occasions. I am disappointed by the very cheap, thin chain, which looks like it can easily break. For such an expensive necklace, you would expect a more substantial chain. I like David Yurman designs, and this square pendant with pave diamonds is modern and attractive. It is expensive for such low diamond weight, but you pay for the designer name and Yurman's unique design. I ordered this pendant online, and it arrived in a Bloomingdales box (not a David Yurman box) with the chain completely knotted in several places. It was also sent without requiring a signature for delivery, which is risky, especially during the holiday season when there are so many package thefts. Bloomingdales needs to do better with its shipping process.
