is this purse actually made of real leather?

The tote is beautiful and large enough to hold lots of your weekday extras. However, I returned this bag because it was quite heavy and it had a very off-putting smell. It did not smell of natural leather, but rather a leather-like product that was chemically treated. I ordered a second purse from Cuyana that also had the same smell, which was very disappointing. I cannot justify spending this kind of money on a purse that may or may not be real leather. For reference, I ordered a third purse from Madewell that actually smelled of real leather, as described, and I settled on that one.
