Great stuff
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't know why a charcoal based cleanser is so calming and nourishing but this is. It feels so good to take my makeup off with it. A little goes a long way. It cleanses without drying or feeling too oily.

Clinique Charcoal Cleansing Balm
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a big fan of cleansing balms over cleansing oils so I was very excited to receive this one from Clinique. I liked the texture and felt like it did well removing the days oil and grime, but because of the charcoal it makes everything messy. After washing my face there would always be streaks of grayish water in my sink. I don’t think the charcoal necessarily has any strong benefit and for the price, you can find cheaper options that don’t make a mess & are equally effective. Terrible oily mess
This balm smelled bad, like rancid oil. It looks and feels like black Vaseline and definitely does NOT rinse off with water as stated! It was an oily mess. After trying to rinse it off I finally wiped it off with a wet washcloth, which stained it dark. I don’t recommend it, and what is with the rancid smell??

Leaves a residue buildup
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did not like it. This snells awful and leaves a thick film on my skin even after rinsing it off. I had to use additional cleansing products to completely remove the residue.

Vacuum cleaner for your skin!

Charcoal cleansing balm!!
I usually purchase the regular Take the Day Off cleansing balm but I decided to try this one with the charcoal.. I really love the way it makes my skin feel so soft and clean! This has actually helped my pores look better and I wasn't expecting to see a real difference between the 2 cleansing balm products. I have very large pores and this product has made the pores look smaller. I wish I had of tried it earlier because I really love this product! When I put it on I rub into my skin really good and leave it for a couple minutes then rinse my splashing water on to my face and follow with the jelly cleanser. I see some people just wipe off with a dry cloth. But I have sensitive skin so I always want to make sure I get it all off. It doesn't make a mess in the sink like some charcoal cleansers do. It rinses off nicely. This is my new favorite!

Bring back the original!
The original was much gentler and best for all skin types. The charcoal version is harsher and drying. There should really be 2 balms to choose from not just this one. So disappointed that such a great product was discontinued.
