    Bal d'Afrique Absolu reimagines the iconic scent with a more gourmand intensity, heightening the contrast between vibrant lightness and addictive depth, paying tribute to founder Ben Gorham's personal memories and the vibrant artistic influence of African culture. This reinterpretation elevates the gourmand notes of Bal d'Afrique to an addictive level, all surrounding a heart of sweet praline. Notes of bergamot, lemon and blackcurrant offer a bold vibrance before melting into praline, sweet musks and violet. A woody blend of cedar and vetiver add depth and drama to the base, with warm black amber extending the gourmand push of the praline right to the very end.

    The Absolu de Parfum is held in a redesigned bottle, an homage to craftsmanship. Embodying the deep intensity and transformation, the textured cap, inspired by Yakisugi, the Japanese art of charring wood, opens to reveal the atomizer spray, complementing the bottle's elemental design and the clean curves of the glass that shows the intense color of the fragrance within.

Undecided of the scent

Cute little package. Size is a sample size perfume. I wasn’t sure whether the scent was meant for women or men. Upon researching, it’s meant for both genders. Scent is very citrusy, and musky. Personally when I tried on, I thought I smelled like men, but it sort of dissipates into a semi sweet scent. I asked my husband his thoughts, and he said it smelled sort of sweet.

A floral that’s just ok

Love Byredo scents but this one wasn’t very unique or interesting for me. Just a light, floral, spring kind of light perfume. I could see a lot of people loving this, but I thought it was just ok! I’ll happily add this little sample to my travel bag and use it up but wouldn’t purchase.

Unisex fragrance

At first spray, the most noticeable scent is natural citrus. It then became quite floral and feminine which surprised me. Didn't take long before it settled into a woody and musk scent that's gender neutral. It gives off a warm and cozy vibe. I like how it's not too overwhelming and doesn't irritate people with a strong sense of small. Long-lasting and usually don't need to reapply. Good for everyday wear. Full-size is expensive.

Unique Woodsy and Unisex Scent

Musky. I didn't realize it was unisex, ans it leaned too masculine for my taste. The notes are very interesting and new, just the woodsy was too much. I think it stayed for a few hours, but it didn't dry down or even the top not of what I was hoping for.

Love aroma

I loved the scent; it's sweet but also soft. Perfect for daytime, and the fragrance lasts a long time. The sweet notes make the perfume a little more feminine.

Obsessed

I’m seriously obsessed with the smell of this perfume and wish that I got the full size. It’s a little musky and would definitely work on any gender. The sample size sprays very well and lasts a decent amount of time but I definitely want more. I think it works for any season.
