Overpriced!
You can get this kind of quality luggage for half the price; and with a no haggle warranty. The expansion mechanism at first is nice until you realize it adds a lot of weight and does the same thing as a zipper. Sure the exterior handle is an attractive feature but it and other design elements just don’t maximize the space afforded by the industry-defined exterior dimensions. I have got to admit however, B&Rs communication and ease of doing business is exceptional.

Very Disappointed
The luggage looks nice but I hate that the compression system just slips open if the suitcase is packed full. To the point that I can’t even take it on the road and have gone back to my old luggage. Very disappointed that I spent B&R money for a product I can’t use.

Stylish and functional, but prone to scuffing
Great bag! Just wish it was a bit more resistant to scuff marks

Great open-top hard-case carry on
Love this bag. I have the older soft version of this and didn’t feel like it was sturdy enough (kept falling over). This hard-cased one is much more sturdy, fits a lot (went to Europe for 3 weeks and carried on only with this bag and an additional underseat bag), and is nice quality. I have the olive color and my husband had me order the black one after he saw mine. The only thing I wish it did was do have a switch/toggle to hold the expansion up while packing, and then another switch to keep it closed after compression. If overpacked, it tends to un-expand (even if everything fits). I also love that it is not a clamshell case and can just open the top (but would be nice if it could stay open without propping against something). Most of the hotel rooms in Europe are small and only have one luggage rack, so having the top open vs clamshell really saves on space.

Well worth the money
Purchased this for a recent trip to New Orleans....I managed to get all I needed and then some on the return trip with ease...The compression feature of the suitcase is gray. My only dislike are the zippers, I feel they should be heftier for the price of the suitcase.

Great luggage as usual, with one flaw.
I am now fully invested in Briggs & Riley - checked luggage, carry on luggage, and computer bags. I have at least 2 of each of those. This is my second hard side piece of luggage - the first being a medium sized checked bag. Both are very well made, have great wheels, look nice, and are well organized. But, both have the same issue. You can look at them sideways and they scratch and get white marks from scuffs. I loaded this carryon into an overhead bin for the firsts time a ways back and it immediately showed a whitish scuff on the edge. Despite being relatively new, my checked hard side looks like it’s years old from the scuffs. They don’t come off - whenever you craze the plastic on these it turns white. So love the luggage, don't love the fragile nature of the finish. Both are dark blue in case you’re wondering. Not sure if this could be remedied without changing materials. Otherwise love the luggage.

Overall a great carry-on
I purchased the Briggs & Riley Sympatico 22" Carry-On in July and wanted to test it out on a few trips before sharing my thoughts. After two trips to Europe, I can say this carry-on fits perfectly in the overhead bins of both Lufthansa and Brussels Airlines, which is a huge plus. I was able to pack 4-5 days' worth of clothes comfortably, and the compression system was surprisingly helpful in maximizing space. The power pocket is a great addition, offering convenient storage for my umbrella or cell phone. I agree with other reviewers on how smoothly it rolls – whether in the airport or on city streets, it glides effortlessly. My only minor complaints are that I noticed a few scuffs on the exterior after some overhead bin use, and while it’s manageable, some might find it a bit heavy when fully loaded. Overall, great carry-on.

Worth the price
The collapsing feature allows me to pack more and easily zip it up. Well made. Very happy with my purchase even though it is very expensive.
