Good size with easy pour

The kettle has a large capacity but is built to be slightly wider so it doesn’t stand up too tall on the counter top which is something I like. The spout pours very accurately, not one spill or drip. It heats up to temperature fast and fairly quietly. The handle is also very comfortable in the hand. So far, I’m very happy with it.

Good look, works well but doesn’t LAST

This is our 2nd Breville electric kettle in 5 years. Identical model both the on/off button stopped functioning properly. First time it gave up- thought it was a one off but the next one did the same thing. Too expensive to last such a short time. NOT built to last. I’ll pay less and replace with the same frequency.

Glass lid cracking and chipping through regular use and zero damage or mishandling by me

I've only had this for a couple of years, never dropped it, never closed the lid too roughly, always treated it well and now the clear glass lid is cracking by itself all around the edge and a large crack is starting to form down towards the center. Whatever material they used here is obviously not durable enough to handle heat. This is unacceptable. Screams of cheap cost cutting at the expense of the customer at the end of the day. (whatever black marks you see around the metal rim are reflections of my pendant lights, not scuff marks, I've kept it in immaculate shape)

Look slick but...

So, about two years back, we snagged this kettle, thinking it would be our daily rockstar. Looks-wise, it's still a champ, but sadly, its performance has taken a nosedive. The base powers up fine, but the boiling action? Not happening anymore. We tried to be eco-friendly and get just the base replaced, but guess what? Sold out. After a few days of resorting to the old pot for boiling water, my husband decided we needed a fresh start with a different kettle brand. By the way, we also own a Breville Air Fryer toaster oven and a coffee maker. Breville was our go-to for gifts. As cool as they seem, all three of these gadgets have been nothing but trouble and quite the dent in our wallets. No more Breville appliances for us—they might look good, but the charm fades when they can't stick around for the long haul.

An elegant, sturdy and easy to use kettle. A great addition to our kitchen. I am sure it will be as long lasting as my other Breville appliances.

Beautiful but lacks longevity

I loved this kettle until the base became problematic. When I push a button, it might actually be a different setting that responds. The lights just go a little crazy and I have to keep randomly pushing buttons until it decides we are in the same page and it will do what I want. I've been watching for a replacement base to come available but that hasn't happened. Unfortunately, at this point, I'm just waiting for it to quit completely. If the bar isn't available by then, I'll replace with another brand.
