Great machine.

I love a nice coffee. I enjoy barista made coffees. I’ve tried pods, presses and the like. They are a good introduction to try and replicate the same experience at home.I did feel like there was more out there though. I’m a fan of Breville products and decided to try their espresso machines. I got this and I must say I am impressed. Easy to use. Easy to modify. I liked it at first. Very happy. But after some minor tweaks after reading the manual I no longer go out for coffee. Easy to use machine with excellent results. One very happy customer here.

Grind and tamper difficulty

The initial set up trying to find the right grind level and tampering is very tricky. I’ve gone through a few bags of coffee beans and still can’t get it right. The tampering is also very difficult and did not realise the strength needed to push down on it which is a huge issue with my rheumatoid arthritis. I would highly recommend the impress model above rather. Quite disappointed after spending so much money

Love it but not the water tank

I love this machine but I would not recommend it. Everything is perfect except for its water tank. I would not recommend getting this machine just because of its water tank. Buy another machine that has water tanks that are compatible with multiple machines. I need to replace the water tank as a great deal of green algae has accumulated around the bottom left part of the tank, where there sits a circular ball that floats up as you fill the tank with water. The design makes it difficult to clean out the algae - I’ve tried brushes, various vinegar-baking soda solutions and nothing worked. This particular machine has a specific water tank not compatible with other barista machines. To make matters worse, the water tank is out of stock on Breville’s website. I haven’t used my coffee machine for over two months now….

Low quality of extract espresso

I am not at all satisfied with the quality of the espresso coffee, I used 1 kilo of coffee so that the coffee grinder would be ideal and give a standard extract, but unfortunately it is either too bitter and little or watery and tasteless. I recommend using machines with ready-made capsules or machines Another brand!!
