Nice fabric but some details are not for me

The Hyde's mid-weight wool w/cashmere is soft to the touch and would be good for fall/milder winter in midwest. The hand pockets are in a great!. I also like the length, just a little longer that a typical peacoat. I ordered my normal size & it fit w/a little extra room for layering. The arms were a little long for me. However, I find it odd for a wool coat of this length not to have a back vent for movement, especially for sitting. I'm not sure if I like how collar looks around my neck, showing more stitching than I'd like. Most peacoats have a feature where you can fold up & button the lapels to better protect your upper chest & neck from cold. This coat has bright silver hooks that stick out of the lapels that allow you to fasten the lapels at your neck for warmth. I find the hooks to unnecessarily complicate the look of the lapels when not hooked - there are other ways to latch at the neck that are more subtle. The hooks are not noticeable in the first photo.
