nourishing and not oily

I am mostly comparing this to their Rich Cream which I have tried to like several times and do not rate for sensitive skin. This has a rich cream texture (unlike the RC which is more of a thick lotion). It applies smoothly, and leaves the skin only a little oily. I find this makes a good occlusive (barrier to moisture loss), and gives good nourishment but little hydration, so is good for dry skins but not ideal if you are dehydrated as well. It is more nourishing than the rich cream, and does not give the same persistently oily finish (that one never absorbs on me), so if you do not like that you may like this better. I have sensitive reactive skin, and had no reaction to this while using it. Overall, I'd say this is a far better moisturiser than the rich cream, but is not quite right for me personally, as I need a bit more hydration from my winter moisturiser, and already have a lighter weight moisture balm which is very effective for barrier repair. However if you have dry and/or sensitive skin and want to try an AB moisturiser, this is the one I would suggest if you have the budget. I would give this an extra star, but I really think it is very overpriced, as most Austrian and German skincare seems to be.

Really does soothe

I’ve been using a sample of this at the perfect time as my skin has been feeling very raw and sensitised recently. Since using this cream just as a day cream, my skin has been noticeably less aggravated and much softer. It’s so expensive but if you do have irritated or sore feeling skin- this absolutely worked on me. Also layers well with other products and didn’t pill with make-up.

So smooth!

The ultimate soothing cream is absolutely amazing! The cream is super hydrating and leaves the skin feeling so incredibly soft. It has not caused any breakouts or acne which is amazing so I highly recommend this product as it feels great and very moisturising.

lovely

I have dryy and sensitive skin, especially after loong haul flights. Using this face cream in comparison to the trich cream, I find this more comforting and soothing for my skin, especially on sensitive areas. Wish it wasn't in a jar though as I prefer other packages that has less exposure

Using on scarred skin

I received a deluxe sample of this beautiful cream and I have been using it sparingly on scarred skin on my neck due to a thyroid operation. It really is soothing and softens the tightness and irritation around this area. It absorbs really well without leaving a greasy film. I would love to buy the full size but will wait for the next round of discounts as it is pricey.

Helped with my irritated skin

I'm a regular user of AB's "The Cream," but purchased this for a damaged skin barrier after a reaction to a facial. It provided great hydration, and calmed my irritated skin. It's much thicker than the The Cream, but would be great for dry or irritated skin.

Indeed a very soothing cream

I have a small 7ml sample tube of this cream and used it when I noticed my skin was feeling itchy and irritated. I had used another barrier-repairing moisturiser from another brand, which didn't appear to sooth the itchiness. I tried the AB cream and it worked wonders, instantly making my skin feel comfortable and stopping the itch. My skin is very oily, but this sank in very quickly, but still left me feeling like there was something on my skin in a nice way, i.e. not a heavy film. I really love the cream for this, and I am still deciding whether I want to buy the full size once my sample runs out. It is very expensive of course and so I will want to just use the sample for a week or so to see how it fits into a normal routine.

Crazy price for what it is

This is a nice cream, that's it. It is no better than other much cheaper brands, I don't think it is special or will do anything magical to justify the high price point, unaffordable for the vast majority of people anyway. Don't get the hype with this brand but the eye masks are absolutely amazing, they are worth the money!
