Perfect for mature skin

This is a great product for mature skin (I'm 52). It's easy to apply and is quickly absorbed. No strong scent. Skin is looking glow-y. I have sensitive skin (reacts to changing water when I travel!) and had no issues at all using The Essence. Would I buy again? Yes.

A hydrating gem

I’ve always been sceptical about Augustinus Bader — good products, but very pricey. The Essence caught my eye as it’s more affordable, so I tried a mini and ended up loving it. My dehydrated skin usually feels tight by afternoon, but with this, it stayed hydrated and fresh all day. The texture is beautifully thick yet absorbs well, and the formula combines hydrating (glycerin, hyaluronic acid) and gentle exfoliating (gluconolactone, papain) ingredients. Didn’t expect to miss it this much — I’m already thinking of buying the full size.

can i just say as a essense this is very expensive but its also so good lol i have found its made skin more glowy and firmer which i love but it hasnt removed any marks off my face which i found dissapointing would i buy this againn yes i would as its under £100 if it was over then i wouldnt rebuy

The Augustinus Bader Essence is a pleasant product, but not a must-have for me. The texture is light and absorbs quickly, leaving the skin smooth and slightly refreshed. It provides gentle exfoliation and hydration, but I didn’t notice any dramatic changes in my skin over time. It’s nice to use, especially as part of a full AB routine, but considering the price, there are more affordable options that deliver similar results.

Luxurious branding, average results

I’ve never purchased from Augustinus Bader myself, but I’ve received quite a few of their products over the years, including The Essence. After testing it thoroughly, my verdict is: it’s fine — but not remarkable. It’s a decent product in terms of texture and absorption, and it didn’t cause any irritation. But for the premium price tag, I expected more noticeable results. Honestly, there are better-performing essences out there for less. If you’re drawn to the brand’s luxury image or just curious, it’s worth sampling. But as part of a serious skincare routine, I wouldn’t prioritize it.
